What are the Best Practices for Managing Facebook Pages?

By Agent Image / Updated July 21, 2016 / Published March 28, 2014 / 4 min read

Facebook pages have been useful not just in real estate marketing, but also in Internet Marketing in general. Pages are crucial in all phases of a business or a campaign, from its infancy and brand building to it’s use in engaging customers once brand popularity has increased. Many big name companies have also used Facebook pages as a new venue to extend customer satisfaction or increase awareness of a new product or service. In recent years, Facebook Pages have also become a way to study consumer demographics or simply to engage target audiences.

But you have to make use of each post on your Facebook page wisely. Put in too much information on your page and people will start to get annoyed or worse, categorize your materials as spam and unfollow you. That’s the biggest challenge with posting on Facebook pages, it’s really about toeing the line between legitimate advertising or promoting and spamming.

To counter that, there are a lot of “tried and tested” techniques that businesses have implemented for their Facebook page. In fact these ‘best practices’ are actually used by both small scale and large scale companies all around the world.

  • Share or Give a Consistent Personality for each post. Having your own flavor whenever you post something on your official page spices things up for your Facebook followers. Personality can be conveyed in a few words, so make each word count. Real estate marketers and agents should also make people feel at ease through the words on each and every post.
  • Post Creative or Visually Appealing Content. Pictures paint a thousand words so imagine putting a really beautiful photo together with some smart captions and a link back to your website. You can definitely garner more site visitors and even win a few more followers on the page. Just be sure to put it into the context of what your brand is. People on the Internet will know if a page is just trying too hard to get attention.
  • Give People a Peek of life within the company. This will let people know that there are actually people working in an office. Real estate agents could show interesting things they encounter on the road, or the people they meet or even the homes that they are selling. It gives people a sense of ease knowing that they are dealing with an actual human being and not a cold, calculating machine.

There are hundreds of other ‘best practices’ for Facebook fan page administrators out there. Each is as important as the last one. Agent Image knows exactly what you need, which is the reason why we welcome any and all website and marketing inquiries.
