Email Marketing for Realtors: 5 List Management Tips
An actively managed contacts list is essential to the success of any email marketing campaign. A clean list of fully engaged recipients is the ideal scenario you'll want to have and here are a few things to take into consideration to help bring that about:
- Do you have permission from everyone on your list? The one thing you must never do is to buy or rent a list from any third party. Everyone should be there because they opted in.
- Remind your recipients how they got on your list. It's not unusual for people to forget that they signed up for something and why they did. Including a brief reminder in your email copy will update them and prevent your email from getting flagged as spam.
- Offer subscription options, especially if you provide frequent updates. This way you can specifically target groups and individuals and it will help you keep a wider base of recipients engaged.
- Make sure your e-mails comply with CAN-SPAM. This means that you must always include your company's physical address as well as a clear sender. You should always include a clear opt-out/unsubscribe option as well.
- Keep an eye on your bounce rate. Too many bounces can get your mail tagged as spam.
- Don't forget to do some housecleaning from time to time.
