Google Hummingbird and Everything You Need to Know

By Agent Image / Updated July 14, 2016 / Published October 17, 2013 / 3 min read

Google just celebrated its 15th anniversary and to mark the occasion, the search engine giant has revealed that there is a new search algorithm already working code that’s named “Hummingbird”.

So what does Hummingbird do, how will it change everything that’s working in search engines and what is the direct work-around for this new algorithm? Google Hummingbird is geared towards mobile searches. Industry experts believe that this new algorithm will help create a wider knowledge database on any and all topics. As showcased during a recent press conference, the algorithm will show users the top sites with the most content that will answer the query.

Basically what happens is Google will be using the contents found on any website and if the algorithm approves the site, it will be featured on the first page of the search pages. Each search will add to the system’s ‘experience’ until the system or the search engine itself has determined that it has enough information to show on that specific keyword.
This new algorithm focuses more on technical things such as data retrieval, artificial intelligence, accessing data and more importantly how said data is presented to users. There’s really no direct conjunction between this and the search engines. While it might sound too much, real estate marketers who run or operate their own websites should not panic. Instead, make the necessary adjustments and changes.

One of the necessary adjustments that real estate marketers must do is to create content for their websites that are geared specifically to attract the attention of the search engine. Write content that’s heavy with information. Create content that you feel will be compiled by Google and other search engines.

If you need more help with crafting Google Hummingbird-worthy content or if you need help in traversing through the complexities of the Google algorithm, please send a quick email to [mail_to email="[email protected]"][email protected][/mail_to] and we’ll help you out.
