Lead Nurturing and Why It’s Important in Real Estate Marketing

By Agent Image / Updated July 14, 2016 / Published August 20, 2013 / 3 min read

Ever heard of the term ‘lead nurturing’? If not then don’t fret. It’s not a popular strategy or at least a popular term. The fact however is that whether you’re familiar with the term or not, you have actually used this strategy with your past clients or your present prospect.

Let us breakdown the three main strategies that are commonly used in a successful marketing campaign namely (a) traffic generation (b) lead generation and (c) lead nurturing. The first two have gained traction and popularity, not to mention both are being used frequently.

Lead nurturing basically refers to the continued communication and interaction with a prospect for a prolonged period of time. This really depends from account to account, but the usual duration is from the time of initial contact all the way to when the prospect becomes a client. Some companies or marketing campaigns are designed to disconnect earlier so that the responsibility is handed over to sales representatives or account specialists. Other marketing campaigns on the other hand extend the time of lead nurturing until well after the prospect has made his or her initial purchase.

In a traditional lead nurturing scenario, the agent or broker needs to provide a steady stream of useful information for the prospect. The information should be helpful or insightful, and more importantly, carry the right branding information such as your name or your company’s name. In today’s setting, it would also be a good idea to bring in a call to action towards the end of the information thus educating your prospect.

A proper lead nurturing campaign will bear fruit in no time. Just remember to find something that your prospects can really dig into and remember to brand these materials with your name or your company’s name.
