Will Your Success Come from Your Branding or From the Amazingness of Your Listings?

Real estate marketing can be seen in various ways and thru different perspectives. Even success can be relative. One group can say that they are successful on their real estate marketing endeavors thanks to the properties that they are offering. Others on the other hand will say that they have reached their success thanks to their efforts in building a strong brand and through some smart marketing. The simplest answer that we can provide however is the thought that both lines of thinking are right.

For real estate marketers who feel like they will gain success by picking only the best property or home, there is nothing wrong with that belief. In fact, it’s quite true. Do you think that people will take a real estate marketer seriously if they see that the home that is being offered is in terrible condition? Obviously they won’t take the property and there’s also a high chance that your name might get mentioned once or twice and it won’t be in a positive way. So the solution here is picking the best properties that you can offer and then giving the best prices for the property. Have a handful of great sales with happy buyers and you can bank on positive buzz. For clients that are requesting your representation that have homes that need work, offer them some advice on how to improve their home before putting it on the market.

On the other hand, building a strong brand which could either be your own name or your business’ name, gives you the chance to dig deeper. Being remembered by people for your catchy name will always be good for business. Here are some ideas on how to build a stronger brand.

  1. Social media – Facebook will be a good starting point if you truly want to build a strong brand. Share your page with your followers and have them like your Facebook fan page to get updates on new properties or industry news.
  2. Meeting people – attending real estate conventions or joining groups can also help a lot because you meet people and pick up ideas that can work for you. It’s also a great way of expanding your network which you might be able to use down the road.
  3. Hosting giveaways – what might be a simple gift to you or any type of corporate giveaway might not be much, but it helps in reinforcing your brand name to people. You also get a chance to promote for free as long as the item is being used in public.

All in all, take both strategies and see what gives you better results. In marketing, you have to test and try different things to see what works best for you. If you need more advice, don’t hesitate to contact us at 1.866.825.9499.
