5 Ways to Promote Your Real Estate Blog After Your 1st Post

Too many agents suffer from infrequent posting. Yet content marketing using your real estate blog is one of the best ways to build up a loyal following. So after you have made your first blog post then what?

We will lay out five ways to promote your real estate blog after your 1st post. These strategies will help to attract more eyes to your content and will help to show off your expertise and add value to your website.

#1: Is Your Content Optimized?

If you have your own real estate website than you should already be familiar with SEO strategies for improving your search engine ranking. But did you know that your content must also be optimized for search engines?

There are many ways to do it. Our top tip for you is to use organic keywords and use them strategically. For instance if you sell luxury properties in Miami, you don’t just want to repeat the words luxury properties and Miami throughout your content.

The goal is to zero in on the types of keywords that searchers are likely to type into Google search that will lead them to your page. Build the content around that search so that the keywords flow naturally in your content and don’t appear to be just plugged in wherever.

#2: Are You Sharing Content with Your SOI?

The best way to promote your real estate blog is to share your content with your SOI or Sphere of Influence. Using e-mail blasts or a newsletter to share with those in your social and professional networks will go a long way to showing off your local expertise. Your SOI includes many different groups of people including:

  • Professional Networks (Other Agents)
  • Former Colleagues
  • Old High School/College Friends
  • Social Media Followers
  • Local Groups/Organizations

If you belong to the PTA, your fellow parents and teachers are part of that SOI. If you are planning on attending a high school or college reunion this year, get on the chat boards and forums and let them know about your business. Also remember to bring some business cards with you everywhere.

#3: What is Your Social Media Strategy for Blog Sharing?

As a seasoned real estate agent you know that you need to be on social media in order to keep pushing your content out to the masses. What is your social media strategy for sharing your blog content?

Just randomly posting links to your blog is not good enough. You have to entice your followers to want to click the link. Here are some tips for helping to do just that:

  • Focus on Attention-Grabbing Headlines
  • Add Teaser Blog Intros
  • Stagger the Timing of Your Posts
  • Post Between Two and Three Times per Week
  • Monitor Your Tracking Metrics to Adjust Your Strategy

Posting at certain times of the day are better than others. Posting a certain number of times per week is better than posting every day. And posting too frequently can turn some of your users off. Use social media analytics tools to readjust your strategy if necessary.

#4: Do Paid Promotions Help?

Nearly all social media sites now offer some sort of paid advertising. On Facebook you can promote a shop button on your page. Google Ads help place your real estate website on hundreds of thousands of websites for maximum exposure.

Most of these tools only cost between $20 and $60 for monthly paid promotions. Our advice is to use these tools judiciously. Focus on promoting a contest or an open house. Try to limit your paid promotions to actual events that will generate buzz as opposed to paying to promote every day posts.

#5: How are You Networking with Other Bloggers?

Finally are you networking with other bloggers? You might be surprised at how anxious other bloggers are to help promote your real estate website as long as you are willing to promote theirs. One tip to do this right is to find bloggers that are tangential to your business, i.e. appraisers or contractors.
